The Firms Structure

The Practise comprise of the Managing Partner and a team of qualified, experienced and dedicated staff who assist in the day-to-day operations of the firm. Whereas the Managing Partner is responsible for the overall professional assignments, various duties are delegated and done by the different members of the technical team who are assigned duties matching their levels of competence and expertise.

In line with the International Standards on Auditing, the firm has implemented quality control policies and procedures, commensurate with its size and nature of its practise, designed to ensure that all professional services rendered to the clients are conducted in accordance with the international standards or relevant local standards and or practices.

Specifically the personnel in the firm are to adhere to the principles of independence, integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and professional behaviour. The managing Partner ensures that the professional work is assigned to personnel who have the degree of technical training, skills and proficiency required in the circumstances. Thus there is sufficient direction, supervision and review of work at all levels to provide reasonable assurance that the work performed meets appropriate standards of quality.

In line with the Accountants' Professional Ethics we undertake it as our duty to maintain a high level of professional competence through out our career and would not undertake or continue with professional work, which the firm is not competent to perform. To maintain objectivity and integrity the accountancy and audit work of the same client are performed by different personnel.

 

Registration and Legal Basis

Siero & Associates, Certified Public Accountants has been in existence carrying out audit, accountancy, tax & financial management consultancy work for over five years. The accountancy practice in Kenya is regulated through the Accountants Act; Cap 531 Laws of Kenya. Every person(s) practicing as "Certified Public Accountant(s)" has to be registered as per section 24 of the Accountants Act. Subject to this section, a person is qualified to be registered and practice as a Certified Public Accountant if:

  1. he has been awarded by the Examinations Board a certificate designated the Final Accountancy Certificate;
  2. he holds a qualification approved by the Registration Board;
  3. he is both ordinarily resident in Kenya and a member of any professional body specified in the Schedule of the Accountants Act.

The firm Siero & Associates fully complies with the set provisions of the Accountants Act and ICPAK hence enjoys the formal legal status as an Audit firm in Kenya. The firm is also registered with the Commissioner of Co-operative Development to carry out Statutory Audits for the Co-operative Societies. For effective delivery of services, the firm operates under two distinct divisions Koditex Consultants for accountancy, financial & business management services and Siero & Associates for statutory audits & assurance services.

  • Experience as lead consultant in various projects including NGO Audits, Project Management & Evaluation
  • Proficiency in Computer Application Systems, Management Reports and System Audits;
  • Database Management Systems (Oracle 9i) & Crystal Reporting.

Associate Consultant: K. Marangu
Key Qualifications

  • MBA (Finance), B.Com, CPA (K)
  • Twelve years Financial Management and Audit Experience
  • Experience in NGO Audits.

Associate Consultant: W. Stephen
Key Qualifications:

  • B.Com, CPA(K)
  • Twelve years experience in Financial Management, Accounting & Auditing; Micro-finance, Project Monitoring & Evaluation.

Associate Consultants: C. Maina
Key Qualifications:

  • B.Com, CPA (K)
  • Over five years Audit and Consultancy Experience; Experience in Manufacturing Business Audits.

Associate Consultant: H. Onyango
